Titanic 3D sailing into cinemas April 6th 2012 News that Titanic is to be re–released in cinemas in 3 D has been with us for a while, but now we have a release date too: April 6 th 2012. Yes, boys and girls, we can swoon over DiCaprio‘s untamed locks and Winslet‘s, erm, dancing skills all over again – and this time in 3 D no less! Next year marks the centennial of the ship‘s voyage, while April 10 was the date the ship first set sail. Also, it is now almost 15 years since director James Cameron‘ s epic was released to become the highest–grossing film of all time ( that title has now been taken by another little–known Cameron film called Avatar) and bag 11 Academy Awards. Cameron had this to say about the release: "There‘s a whole generation that‘s never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be Titanic as you‘ve never seen it before, digitally re–mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D.
